During his time in the military, Benson became interested in real estate investing, and subsequently joined a friend in the mortgage sales business. Through this experience, he learned about the business of remodeling and selling properties, and also became a real estate agent.

However, due to the real estate market crisis in 2008, he had financial difficulties and was forced to reinvent himself. In addition, he had a bad experience with a mentor who stole a large amount of money from him. Despite the obstacles, he's still active in the real estate field and also has a background in technology.
